Tirana, 24 October 2013 – Senior government officials, Members of Parliament, representatives of international organization, diplomatic corps, non-governmental organizations, business, media and citizens joined the United Nations Agencies in Albania to celebrate United Nations Day.
What made the UN Day very special was the United Nations Fair which provided an opportunity for the UN agencies to show their work through several displays. The Fair highlighted UN’s work in the area of social inclusion, children, corruption and crime, environment, gender equality, democratic governance, health and migrants, human rights, food security, safety at work and many more.
In this fair as a successful program supported by UNICEF were also exposed ALO 116 – Albanian National Child Helpline where participants were informed about the work of ALO 116 during these 4 years of service offered for children. This highlighted of ALO 116 at the Fair was visited by Albanian Foreign Minister Mr.Ditmir Bushati accompanied by Mrs. Zineb Touimi UN Resident Coordinator in Albania which they appreciated ALO 116 for it mission and work.
