Memorandum of Understanding between ALO 116 and State Agency for the Protection of Children’s Right aims to protect every child in emergency and risk.
Tirana, 21 April 2016 – From today, children in Albania have the possibility to receive better coordinated services to protect them from vioelence and exploitation. Albanian National Child Helpline – ALO 116 signed today a Memorandum of Understanding with State Agency for the Protection of Children Right’s. MoU was signed by Executive Director of ALO 116 Ms. Belioza Çoku and Chair of the State Agency for the Protection of Children’s Right Ms. Ina Verzivolli. The signing ceremony was held at the “Zyber Hallulli” Children’s Home in Tirana with the participation of Minister of Social Welfare and Youth Mr. Blendi Klosi. During this event was presented the latest initiative of Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth to turn the Social Care Center in to Emergency Reception Center.
“We are working every day to build a functional child protection system. I want to appeal to every citizen to report every case of violence against children. We are happy to have the Albanian National Child Helpline, free of charge where every citizen can report cases of violence, exploitation and vulnerable children” said Mr. Klosi the Minister of Social Welfare and Youth.
Ms. Verzivolli chair of State Agency for the Protection of Children’s Right, Ms. Verzivolli highlighted the importance of ALO 116 for the child protection system in Albania to establish better coordinated services for children. She confirmed the important role of Emergency Center for every child in risk.
Executive Director of ALO 116, Ms. Çoku- thanked the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth for all initiatives that is undertake with the aim to strength child protection system in Albania. She emphasized importance of the MoU to institutionalise the cooperation between ALO 116 and State Agency for the Protection of Children’s Right.
The MoU aims to strengthen the child protection system in Albania by improving the case referral mechanisms, increasing the intersectorial cooperation and coordination between public institutions and child protection CSO’s.
