Dear friends and partners,
On 1 June 2009, at the official opening of the Albanian National Child Helpline, a child named Frenkli, called for the first a new service: ALO 116. This call opened a new path in relations of children with the child protection services in Albania, thanks to the tremendous support from: UNICEF, AMC, Alb-telecom, AKEP, Eagle Mobile and Vodafone.
ALO 116 is the only social child protection service in the country, answering to children or anyone who works for them during 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The main goal of our work is to protect children at risk with counseling and referral to the social services and child protection system that from year to year are growing and strengthening.
The main principle of our daily work is the respect, participation and welfare of children, confidentiality and public awareness for their rights.
Today we are proud to say that during 3 years of our work ALO 116 answered to more than 412,617 calls from children, while we have provided counseling and referral to 11,132 children and adolescents in the country.
In the 3rd Birthday of ALO-116, we want to share with you our Work Report 2011, in order to introduce you to the needs and concerns that children report to the Albanian National Child Helpline.
In this journey, we would like to thank you on behalf of all the children and our staff, that whenever ALO 116 sought your help you were there to provide a service to provide care and protection for a child in risk or in an emergency situation.
