Tirana, 6 November 2017 – Today, the President of the Republic visited the offices of the ALO 116-Albanian National Child helpline. This is the second that Mr. Meta visits ALO 116 office. The first visit was held during 2015 when Mr. Meta was the Speaker of the Parliament. This shows the importance that ALO 116 has to child protection system in Albania.
The purpose of this visit was to know closely about the progress ALO 116 has made and the difficulties are faced during these years. During the conversation with the Executive Director of ALO 116, Mirgit Vataj, President of the Republic, Meta was interested in the category and the volume of cases reported to ALO 116 by children themselves.
It is very important that children call at ALO 116. This indicates the level of trust that this service has and the need for the child to be heard by the highest levels of Albanian institutions – emphasized during his speech Mr.Meta.
In his presentation, the Executive Director of ALO 116 thanked the President of the Republic, Meta for the interest that he has shown on children’s issues in Albania. This interest strengthens the role of positive models of services provided by civil society organizations.
